Etix Everywhere: ETIX Lyon #1

The ETIX Lyon #1 Data Center is a neutral, secure, and interconnected facility, marking a significant expansion of Etix Everywhere's presence in France through the integration of HosTELyon. Strategically located in Lyon, a key region with connections to Europe, this data center enhances Etix’s multisite, sovereign, and eco-friendly offerings. With 480 kVA of incoming power, it delivers 120 kW of IT capacity, supporting per-rack capacities of up to 12 kW or more with advanced cooling solutions. The facility features two independent power sources (UPS and distribution panels) and two diversified supply points, ensuring high reliability with a 1.6 PUE and an SLA of up to 99.995% availability.

The cooling infrastructure employs an N+1 cooling design, utilizing indirect cooling to prevent mixing of outside and inside air for optimal environmental control. Advanced cooling systems feature variable speed equipment, self-regulating based on IT load, and achieving near-zero Water Use Efficiency (WUE). All racks are equipped with cold aisle containment, optimizing cooling performance and minimizing energy consumption. The facility’s sustainability is further emphasized by the use of green energy contracts and the repurposing of an old industrial building.

Security at ETIX Lyon #1 is robust, with 24/7 NOC staff monitoring all technical infrastructure and CCTV surveillance across all access points. Access is secured via dual authentication for customer and critical infrastructure areas. The facility is equipped with VESDA early fire detection and a human-friendly fire suppression system using inert gas to protect equipment while minimizing downtime. Proven low-noise extinguishing systems add an extra layer of safety for sensitive hardware. A 24/7 service desk is available to provide constant operational support.

As a carrier-neutral data center, ETIX Lyon #1 connects to over 35 local, national, and international telecom providers. It features two Main Distribution Areas (MMRs) for diverse connectivity paths, three points of entry (POEs), and multiple fiber conduits. Diverse fiber optic routes enhance connectivity, while cross-connect installation and maintenance are managed by the NOC team. The center is interconnected with other Etix data centers, providing clients with scalable and flexible infrastructure solutions.
