About Markelo
The Markelo Data Center is a large, energy-efficient facility designed to accommodate high-performance IT infrastructure. With a total surface area of 500 m², spread across 50 m² per data floor, this facility offers significant space for large-scale operations. The center has a total power capacity of 1000 kVA, with per-rack capacities ranging from 1 to 25 kVA, making it versatile for various power requirements. The power supply is delivered through dual A and B feeds, ensuring redundancy and stability. It provides 230V and 400V power options, with 48V available on request for specialized configurations.
Sustainability is a core principle at the Markelo Data Center, operating with a PUE of less than 1.2 and powered entirely by 100% sustainable Dutch wind energy. The facility uses direct free air cooling, maintaining a temperature range of 20°C to 27°C on the data floors, while the cold corridor principle enhances cooling efficiency and reduces energy consumption. As a carrier-neutral data center, it offers clients flexibility in network provider selection and provides a radio link with a 99.999% uptime guarantee, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted connectivity.
Security at the Markelo Data Center is comprehensive, with camera monitoring, an intrusion detection system, and a professional security response team available in case of alarms. Access is controlled through personal access passes, with options for iris scans or facial recognition for enhanced security. Separately lockable racks provide additional protection for client equipment. To further support operational needs, a 24/7 service desk is available every day of the year, ensuring constant support.
