Retelit: Avalon 1

The Avalon 1 Data Center, located in the bustling Caldera area of Milan, serves as the central hub for the Avalon Campus. Positioned within Italy's most densely networked IP region, it acts as a pivotal point for national internet traffic. The facility connects over 165 operators, cloud providers, OTTs, and streaming platforms, providing seamless interconnectivity for businesses.

The facility spans 8,900 square meters across four buildings, housing 25 data rooms with a total power capacity of 4.3 MW. The infrastructure supports high-density configurations, including cabinets, private suites, and custom cages, with a ground floor load capacity of 1,500 kg per square meter. Avalon 1 is designed for high efficiency and reliability, featuring advanced cooling systems and an innovative distributed meet-me-room optical infrastructure for rapid connections.

As part of the carrier-neutral Avalon Campus, Avalon 1 enables extensive interconnectivity with other data centers on-site via over 7,000 meters of fiber optic cables and connections to the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX). Security is ensured with 24/7 monitoring, multi-factor authentication, and stringent access protocols.
