About KIO MERIDA 2 (MER2)
KIO Merida 2 (MER2) is a Tier II data centre that commenced operations in 2019. The facility features eight ATOM computer rooms, offering a total technical floor area of 89 square meters with a height of 2.51 meters from the raised floor to the ceiling. Designed for high reliability, MER2 is equipped with six redundant 109 kVA UPS systems, ensuring uninterrupted and filtered power to all installed equipment, supported by an advanced battery monitoring system. The electrical infrastructure includes 2N redundancy, backed by two 500 kW emergency generators with a four-day diesel reserve.
MER2 provides carrier-neutral connectivity, hosting several major carriers such as Altan Redes, Bestel, Megacable, Velecom, Ufinet, and Axtel. The data centre incorporates advanced fire protection systems, including smoke detectors, early fire detection, and a preaction system with double interlock. Security measures are robust, featuring double authentication controls, 24/7 video surveillance with 90-day storage, and PCI DSS certification. The facility also includes a dedicated Network Operations Center (NOC) for continuous operations and network monitoring, staffed by qualified personnel available around the clock.
