Panattoni Development Company, a prominent industrial real estate developer, has strategically expanded into the data center sector to meet the growing demand driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. In August 2024, the company established the North American Data Center Group, appointing Adam Kramer—a seasoned executive with experience at nZero and Switch—as its leader.

The company has ambitious plans to develop one gigawatt of data center capacity over the next five years, equating to the power needs of approximately 876,000 homes. These facilities will range between 100 to 500 megawatts each and will be constructed on both existing Panattoni-owned properties and newly acquired sites.

Panattoni's expertise in large-scale industrial projects positions it well to deliver state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, and secure data centers. The company emphasizes sustainability, collaborating with utility providers and independent power producers to offer carbon-free energy solutions tailored to client needs.

Internationally, Panattoni has made significant strides, notably receiving approval in February 2025 for an 88-megawatt data center in Barcelona, Spain. This facility is set to be the largest in Catalonia, underscoring Panattoni's commitment to addressing the escalating global demand for advanced data infrastructure.
